Cross Walk - Good Friday

  • Emmanuel Reformed Church 1150 Maple Hill Road Castleton, NY 12033 United States (map)

Journey with us as we commemorate Jesus’ walk to Calvary on Good Friday. What is so “good” about Good Friday? Isn’t it the day that Jesus suffered and died by crucifixion - hanging upon a cross. What is “good” about that? For Christians it is of great importance, but only because the story doesn’t end there. On the third day Jesus rose from the dead bringing to fulfilment what the scriptures had pointed to from the beginning. Jesus had overcome death and cleansed each one of us from our sins - past, present and future - so that we could be reconciled to a God who loves us. The willingness of Jesus to suffer and die as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins is “good” in that all who have been united to Him by faith have been freed from the curse of sin and death.

At noon our walk will begin at church and take us down Simons Rd. to the Horizon View Cemetery on Brookview Station Rd. in the Windy Hill Orchard.
