If God brings something out of the grave it is great - but if not, you end up with something ugly.
It is fascinating and a bit scary to see what people will do in the company of an angry mob. With inhibition down and the cover of being semi-anonymous people will do things they would never do acting on their own. But I don't think this is what the phrase "safety in numbers" is supposed to mean. And it doesn't.
We live our lives surrounded by a crowd, it is called our community, or our society, and if we just copy what everyone else is doing, it does not guarantee a good outcome. To get all that God offers, we need to give up copying others, and get some good directions. Time to follow the Leader.
SERMON NOTES - HERE
It seems hard to see the news these days without hearing a discussion of the truth. Actually most media outlets don't use the term truth - rather the preferred term is facts. Well, the opposite of facts is the same as the opposite of truth: LIES.
There are truth and lies in politics, but much closer to home there are lies in our lives which we treat as truth. But these are lies which hold us back, and keep us from doing and being all that God desires.

If we dont get it right, life can feel like running on a treadmill - Using lots of energy, and getting nowhere. How can we help others without killing ourselves? Well, we must give up working to please people. If making everyone happy is your goal, you will never arrive. But there is a better way.
There are better ways to go through life than always viewing yourself as the victim. In Christ there is victory! But don't focus on becoming the victor - focus on being like Christ! (Click for the Sermon Notes)
Are you and optimist or a pessimist? How you approach the world matters - your outlook and your attitude have a significant impact on the outcome of just about every situation. The Bible never uses the words optimist or optimism, but it is there so very clearly if you read between the lines. It is not a wishful thinking, unrealistic optimism which can disappoint, but rather at hopeful hope anchored in true security. This message can change your life. (Click here for Sermon Notes)

Sometimes we give up, we stop hoping, we don't see how things could possibly work out. This is nothing new. The people of God, the Israelites, knew the promises, but did not see how King David's (their greatest king) would have a reign which would last forever. That was the promise, but it was far from reality. But we can find hope for our lives in the amazing history of a new branch from a dead stump.
How are you? It is a common greeting in these parts - honestly most of the time it isn't even heard as a question. But if you were to greet someone with "How is your soul?" you would most likely get some strange looks. So, how is your soul? Do you know peace? Do you have security? Does the foundation your soul is resting upon feel solid? In Psalm 23 we can sense the rest of a stable and trusting soul. How do you grow that within your life? I hope you are blessed by this message. Sermon Notes
